I was thinking about Les Mis (again) and flipping through it, and I accidentally stumbled upon one of my favorite parts... I felt so many emotions reading Les Mis (it was like a gosh darn rollercoaster), and this one part just... broke my heart. Terribly. The main character had just returned from his adopted daughter's wedding (the only person he ever loved, seriously), and he went to this valise he'd kept with him for years and years. In it, he had the clothes he'd given his daughter when he adopted her... he laid them all out on the bed, and then he bawled. And I bawled in turn.

I loved all those characters so much, and I was thinking, I love a lot of characters terribly and much too much. I couldn't count how many times my heart's fallen to pieces along with a fictional person, the worst times leaving me morose for several days.

I wouldn't have it any other way, though.
